Talking about her appearance on Rekha Special night of the show, Rekha told a leading daily, “Pyar Aur Kala ki Koe language Nhi hoti” (Music transcends all boundaries and I believe it sets you free). “With Rising Star, the channel has given many of its contestants a platform to explore music and I am looking forward to seeing the budding talent in action”.

Chatty and curious Rekha not only let her hair down on the show, she also sang several songs including “Mai Aur Meri Tanhae “. The actress who was seen enjoying the show told that she will do ‘Riyaz’ at home and definitely going to sing, may be after one or two or ten years later. It was not the first time, she was singing on a show. The Kapil Sharma show has witnessed her singing talent in one of its episode where Rekha carried her own harmonium. This is the ability of timeless and energetic diva to reinvent herself. She also broke down during the performance of one of the contestants.

The veteran actress has worked in plenty of blockbuster movies. Noted for her versatility and acknowledged as one of the finest actresses in Indian cinema Rekha began her acting career as a child artist in Telegu film Rangula Ratnam. She is the daughter of late Tamil actor Gemini Ganesan and actress Pushpavalli. She started her journey in Bollywood with Sawan Badho in 1970. So far, Rekha has done more than 100 films in Indian cinema.
