Draped in the National Tri-colour, the body of the actress was brought to the Vile Parle Seva Samaj Crematorium and Hindu Cemetery from Lokhandwala’s Celebration Sports Club in a tall, air-conditioned truck, fully decorated with white flowers. Boney Kapoor and their daughters, Janhvi and Khushi, lit the pyre for the mukhagni.
Bollywood celebrities and fans flocked to the Celebration Sports Club in Lokhandwala to pay respect to their favourite actress. A police gun salute was rendered with cries of ” Sridevi Amar Rahe” in the air.

The photo of Sridevi that was used at the condolence meet is a still from the actress’s last big hit film, English Vinglish. Sridevi’s daughters Janhvi and Khushi Kapoor, along with her husband, stepson Arjun Kapoor and the extended family, were snapped on their way to the crematorium.
Hema Malini described Sridevi on her last journey, “Sridevi lay there, beautiful in a red saree.”
Paid my last respects to Sridevi. The entire industry was there grieving, some on the verge of breakdown. Such was her aura & magic in films. She lay there, beautiful in a red saree, serene in death & totally at peace. 😢
